For the past few years, Beach Middle School 8th graders have been tasked with creating Passion Projects the second half of the school year.  The projects vary -- from learning the ukulele (go, Molly!) to efforts to launch a new sports team (go, Nina!) to engaging in political activities, including a school walkout for gun control (go, Stella!).  These are just a few of the field hockey athlete projects. (Hopefully, we can share more soon.) Here, we share Makayla's Passion Project to collect used sports equipment for Detroit youth:
