Rising sophomore selected for elite youth games

Nina Faupel recently competed in the National Futures Championship in Pennsylvania. During the games, Faupel was evaluated  by USA Field Hockey coaches and selected for the AAU Junior Olympic Games at Wake Forest University in North Carolina from July 29 to August 1.

USA Field Hockey selected roughly 128 athletes within U14 and U16. Faupel will compete in games and have further opportunity to climb the Olympic pipeline.

Futures Training Leads to the Olympics

For the fourth year in a row, Faupel participated in USA Field Hockey's Futures, spring skills training that prepares athletes for a Regional Futures Tournament. At the RFT, Faupel was selected -- for the fourth consecutive year -- to compete at the National Futures Championship. Faupel's selection to the Junior Olympic Games in 2019 is an exciting progression for the athlete.

Athletes in 6th through 12th grades can train through Futures if invited after a fall tryout. Chelsea and Dexter have hosted tryouts the past few years. Those who have already participated in Futures receive invitations for the next spring season.
